A QB duel, the Hefty Lefty and Belli-cheat

While I admit that the majority of attention is on the Cubs and the rest of baseball, I still had time to look over this weeks NFL schedule to make my picks. Three games in particular jumped out at me as games that would be worth tuning into on Sunday, and here is a mini-breakdown of those games.

-Indy at Tennessee
Last season, the two games between these division rivals were separated by a total of two points, with the Colts winning by one in Indy and the Titans winning by thee in Nashville. I think this will be another close game, because both QB’s will make sure their team stays in the game. Vince Young is quickly becoming one of the leagues top signal-callers, but Peyton Manning’s already there.

-Green Bay at New York Giants
Brett Favre is obviously the most well known QB in this game, but he’s not going to be the most fun to watch. With Eli Manning hurt, the G-Men are going to be starting Jarred Lorenzen AKA the Hefty Lefty AKA the Pillsbury Throw-boy. Mr. Lorenzen, a 300-pound quarterback, will face a tough task in taking on a much-improved Green Bay defense, which is why I think the Packers will improve to 2-0.

-San Diego at New England
This game was interesting the second the schedule was released. You had a team in San Diego that was not only eliminated from the playoffs by their opponent, but embartessed by them. (Remember Tomlinson saying that the Pats had no class, and it was coach Bill Bellichick’s fault) And now there’s the whole New England videotaping cheating scandal, which will make the buzz around this one even crazier. I still like New England, because while the Chargers had a tough physical game with the Bears, the Pats didn’t even half to try versus the Jets. Plus flying across country is never easy.

Here’s the complete week two picks.
