A few programing notes

A few notes of intrest

1) With the first pitch set to be thrown this evening, now seemed like my only time to make a World Series pick: Philadelphia over Tampa in Five. I like the Phillies lineup better, and I think Cole Hammels can dominate a tired Devil Rays order (I know they changed names, but they never asked me what I thought, so I'm sticking with D-Rays). Plus having Brad Lidge as closer is much more comforting than Dan Wheeler.

2) The real reason I'm picking Philly, other than the three I just mentioned, is because I like their fans more. Phily fans are equal to Cubs fans when it comes to passion and pain, so it'd be nice to see them win. On the other hand, I have no respect for any person that calls themselves a Rays fan (other than Dick Vitale) that didn't attend a playoff game. That's because they didn't even sell out during the post-season, not even for Game 7 versus Boston on Sunday night. Embaressing.

3) I will be posting somthing short on Friday (about college football as well as my week 8 NFL picks), but I will not have my usual Monday Football Thought of the Week. This is due to the Bears having a bye on Sunday and also a special, two-part post that will be up Monday afternon and then Tuesday morning.

4) There's no reason for posting these, other than I thought they were funny and it gets me excited for hoops. Enjoy
